Pula festivals

There are many manifestations, events, shows and festivals in Pula and its surroundings during the summer. Over the past decade, Pula has become a famous destination because of some of the largest and best festivals in Europe which are visited by tens of thousands of people each year. The place where they are being held in Fort Punta Christo – old Austrian-Hungarian fort built in the beginning of the 19th century, which is located several kilometers away from Pula. Over the last years, the festival season opens in a grand ceremony in Pula Arena – ancient Roman amphitheater built in the 1st century AD in the center of the City.

Outlook Festival was opened seven years ago, and it is based on bass and sound system culture. Outlook Festival bring some of the most famous performers of roots, reggae, dub, dub step, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass, jungle, soul, dancehall, techno and house music. It is not commercial about commercial music and performers that pop out of the screen, but underground artists, dance music and the belonging culture. Besides the performers, Outlook is famous for the high-quality sound which is certified by hosting some of the best sound systems in the world such as Mungo Hi Fi, Voids Incubus System, Martin Audio Longbow and legendary NCA Soundsystem. The festival lasts for four days and nights and has 12 stages with over 300 performers. Traditionally, it begins with a concert in the impressive Roman amphitheater from the 1st century located in the center of Pula.

The festival has an all-day program on a daily beach stage in the camp by the sea, and a dozen boat parties each day with additional contents. Outlook Festival was nominated for a prestigious European Festival Awards and UK Festival Awards in the category of Best Overseas Festival and Best Medium-sized Festival and for the Best Festival of 2014 in Drum and Bass Arena awards. Slurp! will keep his festival concept through for individual events during the season – one Slurp! each month – 14th June, 5th July, 2nd August and 27th September.

 

Announced Slurp! headliners are: Miss Sunshine, famous techno-diva who will be in charge of heating up the atmosphere on the party opening on 14th July. Richard West, a.k.a. Mr. C, legendary British musician, rapper, actor, comedian, house music DJ and one of the leading representatives of tech house is arriving on 2nd August. Many producers, DJs, musicians and collectives which perform at many popular events during the years will perform alongside mentioned musicians.
