Punta Christo Fort in Štinjan

Punta Christo is an old Austrian fort near Štinjan, which was built in the end of the 19th century. Its main function was to defend Pula harbor from the north and Fažana Channel from the south. As part of Pula’s defense system, it was located in Sector II of Pula Coastal Region (germ. Küstenabschnitt Pola).

The fort was built on a hill, 45 meters above the sea level, which enables it to overlook the whole Pula waters. Inside, there are three courtyards which enables entrance to the underground rooms.
