Cave Romanae
Cave Romanae is a quarry from Roman times, which was used for the extraction of the building stone used for the construction of the Pula Arena on the command of the Emperor Vespasian. The quarry is near Vinkuran settlement and Pješčana Uvala. You can reach the quarry from three opposite directions which reduces the possibility of a traffic jam. After the exploitation ended, there were ideas to turn the quarry into cultural and sports center, with two summer stages, the Stone Museum and climbing and biking areas. The space of the ancient quarry is very acoustic and suitable for the concerts, gastro events and weddings.
