The church of Holy Mary of Karmel in Fažana

It is located on the south entrance from the direction of Pula, on a former edge of the old town. It was built in the 14^th century. It is a one nave structure with small size and height, with finely decorated facades and regularly shaped and positioned stone blocks. There is an arch entrance at the front side with two small windows. The relation between the opening and the wall area gives a harmonious feel to the facade, which is not visible to direct glance because of the oversized covered entrance built in the 17^th century next to the church. The interior is decorated with pointy barrel-like ceiling, and the walls were painted with wall paintings in the 15^th century. Two layers of fresco are noticeable.
